Save frequently used tournament configurations for quick setup and consistent event formats.
What Are Tournament Presets?
Tournament presets allow you to save frequently used tournament configurations for quick reuse. Perfect for:
- Weekly or monthly recurring tournaments
- Standard formats you use regularly
- Different tournament styles for different occasions
What Gets Saved
When you save a preset, it includes:
- Tournament format (single/double elimination, rounders, etc.)
- Team type (singles, doubles, team, random doubles)
- Game rules (score limit, rounds, etc.)
- Entry settings (fee, max participants, courts available)
What You Still Set Each Time
These fields are unique to each tournament:
- Tournament title
- Location
- Date & time
- Description
Creating a Preset
Option 1: Save While Creating Tournament
- Fill out the tournament creation form
- Check the "Save as Preset" checkbox (top right)
- Enter a preset name (e.g., "Friday Night Doubles")
- Create the tournament - preset saves automatically
Option 2: From Presets Management Page
- Go to Dashboard → Tournament Presets
- Click "Create New Preset"
- Fill out the preset configuration
- Click "Save Preset"
Naming Presets
Use descriptive names that include key details like "Weekly Doubles - 16 Player" or "Championship - Double Elim". This makes it easy to pick the right preset later.
Managing Presets
Accessing Your Presets
- Navigate to Dashboard → Tournament Presets
- View all your saved presets in a grid layout
Using a Preset
- Click "Use This Preset" on any preset card
- You'll be taken to tournament creation with all settings prefilled
- Add title, location, and date
- Create tournament
Editing a Preset
- Click "Edit" on the preset card
- Modify any settings
- Click "Save Changes"
Deleting a Preset
- Click "Delete" on the preset card
- Confirm deletion in the modal
- Preset is permanently removed
Preset Display
Each preset card shows:
- All configuration details
- "Unlimited" displays for max participants of 0
- "Free" displays for entry fee of 0
Best Practices
When to Create Presets
- You run tournaments with the same format regularly
- You have multiple standard formats (casual vs competitive)
- You want to save time on tournament setup
Preset Naming Examples
- "Weekly Doubles - 16 Player" - Clear capacity indicator
- "Championship - Double Elim" - Format in name
- "Summer Series Format" - Season-specific
- "Casual Singles - Free Entry" - Style and fee indicator
Time Saver
If you run the same tournament format weekly, create a preset once and reuse it every week. You'll save 5+ minutes each time by only having to update the date and title!
